Warning: Another Qatari Influence Operation Targeting the West
Let’s play a game.
Open YouTube, scroll for a minute, and tell me what you see.
Social justice content. Anti-Western narratives. Clips about “hidden truths.”
Now here’s the real question:
What if some of it isn’t what it claims to be?
There’s a YouTube channel called Uncivilized. It presents itself as American. It speaks the language of young Western audiences. It taps into themes of injustice, inequality, and identity.
But look a little closer, and a very different picture emerges.
The messaging is not subtle:
The United States is fundamentally evil and should collapse
Jews are behind all global problems and control the entire world and media (funny because they are losing the media war, so it looks like they can’t seem to manage their control so good after all)
Liberal democracies that promote free speech, human rights, and high living standards are portrayed as the root of injustice, unlike most Muslim countries that offer almost non of it
Your identity determines whether you are a victim or an oppressor, with no way out
And perhaps most importantly: if you are not Western, white, Christian, or Jewish, you are stripped of agency. You are not responsible for your life. You are a permanent victim
This is not social critique.
This is ideological conditioning, with tons of disinformation ingrained in it.
So what is this channel, really?
At first glance, it looks like just another edgy, progressive media project based in the US.
But a slightly deeper check tells a different story.
The founders have recruited for roles not in New York or Los Angeles, but in… Qatar. One of them previously worked for Al Jazeera and the Doha Film Institute, both key players in shaping narratives that aim to weaken democracy and liberalism aimed at Western audiences.
Al Jazeera, especially in English and through AJ+, has long positioned itself as a voice of justice. But it also consistently amplifies narratives and spreads disinformation that weakens confidence in liberal democracies. I’ve written about this in more detail here.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Further digging suggests that according to LinkedIn the operation is actually based in Ramallah, and financially backed by the state of Qatar.
So what we’re looking at is not an organic Western channel.
It’s a coordinated media effort, designed to look Western while pushing a very specific worldview, full with disinformation.
And the content itself?
This is where it becomes even more concerning.
The videos are filled with distortions, half-truths, and outright falsehoods.
Take one example: a video claiming the West is inherently anti-Arab and anti-Muslim.
Any criticism of radical Islam, terrorism, or cultural practices is labeled as “hate.”
But criticism is not hate. Conflating the two shuts down any honest conversation.
At the same time, there is a convenient silence around:
Arab and Muslim colonial history
The Arab slave trade, which still has echoes today, including in Libya
Systemic human rights abuses in parts of the Muslim world
The treatment of migrant workers, particularly in Qatar
Selective outrage is not justice, it’s propaganda.
Another example: a video about a supposed “100-year Israeli plan to take over Lebanon.”
No context. No mention of decades of attacks launched from Lebanon by Palestinian groups. No mention that Israel withdrew from southern Lebanon in 2000 and never settled it.
Instead, the narrative is simple: Israel invades for no reason.
Remember: reality is messy, Propaganda simplifies.
Or take the claim that Israel is on the verge of collapse because it “produces nothing” and depends entirely on foreign aid.
This is demonstrably false. Beyond approximately $3.6 billion in annual military aid, around 80% of which is required to be spent on purchasing weapons from American companies, effectively strengthening the U.S. economy, the relationship actually benefits the United States as well. Israel serves as a real-world testing ground, validating American weapons, ammunition, and technologies under actual combat conditions.
In addition, Israel shares its own military technological developments in return and enables joint innovation and co-development with the U.S.
Israel is not economically dependent on any other country.
But again, when the truth is inconvenient, propaganda is much easier to explain.
In 2025, Israel has:
A GDP of roughly $530 billion
GDP per capita above $50,000, placing it among the top economies globally
Low unemployment
A stable currency
A highly competitive high-tech export sector
Its economic output per person is compared to other Western countries and significantly higher than that of major regional economies like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, or Jordan, despite Israel lacking natural resources like oil.
In the same video, the speaker claims Israel is collapsing because “Israelis themselves say so,” citing fringe voices.
What’s missing?
The fact that Israel is a democracy, where a wide range of opinions is not only allowed but encouraged.
Contrast that with literally the rest of the Middle East, where dissent is often suppressed, culturally or politically.
Why should you care?
Because this content is not targeting policymakers.
It’s targeting young people in the West.
People under 35. People who consume information quickly.
People who care about justice but often don’t verify sources.
They are being fed a narrative without context:
No awareness of Qatari geopolitical interests
No understanding of how media influence works
No habit of fact-checking emotionally compelling content
And slowly, consistently, their worldview is being shaped.
Let’s be honest. Most people don’t wake up and decide to hate themselves and their culture and to think night is day and vice versa.
They are nudged there, one video at a time.
So next time you watch something that feels outrage-inducing, ask yourself:
Who made this?
Where are they really based?
What are they not telling me?

Thank you for that.

I just reported them to Youtube. Hate speech against the US and Jews should count. I suggest that you add this as activism to your post so that people can try to do something about it rather than just feel disgusted. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you Ella for this post. It is so important to cover the propaganda war against the West by Islamists players. Islamists know that they do not have the military ability to take the West down, so they use the freedoms of the West for what they call "soft Jihad", which basically means indoctrinating young people of the West to hate their own culture and its value and take this culture down from within. With enough exposure to propaganda and lies, young people are made to think that they are fighting for some kind of imagined historical justice, while in fact they open the door to the horrible atrocities Islamists commit every single day in so many countries in the middle east and other places in the world.
The Islamist strategy might sound unbelievable at first, but this is the exact strategy they used to take over Iran 40 years ago. At first they cooperated with idealist young people who were communists, and promised things like free gasoline. Later, after securing their control over the country, the Islamists quickly murdered all said communists, as they did not need useful idiots inside Iran any longer.
